Biography: In 2003 the Singhs founded a ministry, North India Strategic Alliance, whose mission statement is: to reach the unreached of North India with the Gospel of Jesus Christ by evangelism, Church planting and training native missionaries through partnership with the people of God. North India comprises half of the population of India.

NISA has ministries in 13 states with 1,047 strategic partners, 665 churches, 880 house churches, 930 prayer groups and 820 cell groups. They have begun to expand into the East Indian state of Orissa, where they have 14 church planters preaching the gospel. Their goal is to establish 2,000 churches by the end of 2010.

Jonathan is also the pastor of a church that was started by Jonathan's father, Sher Singh, in 1980, and was the 40th and last church he established. The main focus of the church is evangelism, church planting and prayer. The church has 69 cell groups within the city, formed with unchurched people with the help of trained local believers. They have a Children's Development Program which is mainly for children from the streets, slums and for the underprivileged where they teach the basic skills in reading, writing, health and hygiene.
